Two more email responses to my "My Beef with Christianity" article written a few months back (which was itself a response to an email question):
"H" writes:
Randy, I just read your article "My Beef With Christianity". Excellent work. I was a Muslim for almost as long as you were a Christian, and I have similar views. Excellent work.
And Charles writes:

I accidently found your site and read with interest your beefs about Christianity.
While many of your statements are correct, you also are not without error. Some of your statements were out of context, or out of date. The church (small "c" is deliberate) has greatly changed since you left it.
I have a couple questions
Are you really an athiest or are you an anti-thiest? There is a significant difference in those terms.
I noticed you seem unafraid to discuss controversial issures. Are you willing to correspond and freely exchange ideas with me?
I understand if you do not want to, an athiest must carefully guard his faith.

Amazing how 98% of my creative energies are dedicated to things of the humor variety, but when someone gets me going on something serious, that's when I get all the emails. Interesting how that works out. I don't know if that means people are more engaged when I'm serious or if I'm just not that funny, but I'm choosing to believe it's the former.
As for these emails in specific, it's interesting how the responses to that particular piece I wrote has gotten so many responses just totally running the gamut and these two are perfect examples. On the one hand, someone who has had similar experiences and similar viewpoints thinks it's excellent. On the other hand, someone who doesn't agree wants to convince me that my own life experiences are out of context or out of date. And in fact that email contains a couple examples which actually support what I said in my original article, especially the line about atheists needing to carefully guard their faith. And for the record, I responded to that email that I would be more than happy to read and respond to whatever he had that would convince me that I'd managed to take my own life experiences out of context and he has yet to respond. Oh well.
people think I should stop with all this serious bullshit and go back to talking about my balls
