acrappywebsite.com

It has come to my attention that many of my loyal readers cannot access my site from their AOL accounts. I find this quite amusing for a few reasons. Since this is still a very new site I must assume that acrappywebsite.com isn't blocked on AOL because somebody over there personally doesn't like me. I must assume that I'm being filtered with the highly efficient system they have. You see, AOL has taken it upon themselves to decide to allow or disallow users to view sites that are "inappropriate" through the use of a filter which can weed out sites by way of words that appear on the site or adult content.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for filters. I think parents should have the ability to block their children from seeing pornographic sites or sites with more mature (I use that word very loosely here) humor. You can bet if I had a five year old kid and I caught him on acrappywebsite.com, his ass would be in trouble. My problem is that it should be up to parents to decide, not to AOL. AOL is not a leader on moral standards. As a matter of fact, I find some of their practices very immoral, as AOL works very much like a virus in that you lose control over some of your programs when AOL is installed. AOL is just a shitty internet service provider. And I'm not even talking about being blocked on just children or teen's level screen names. I have had people who have adult screen names have told me they can't access my site from AOL, although the general consensus seems to be that it is mostly on Teen names.

I first heard this information from my brother who tried to access my site from his AOL account and could not do so. My brother is nineteen years old. He is old enough to drive a car, get married, pay taxes, buy cigarettes, buy lottery tickets, buy adult magazines, go to some strip clubs, and die in a war defending our country, but he can't look at my web site because I talk about butt sex and masturbation. God, what a country.

The truly hilarious part of all this is, when I was a teen and lived at home, I had a teen screen name and I know for a fact that there were a lot more offensive sites that I could go to. There were porn sites I could go to that weren't blocked. So apparently my web site is more offensive than porn. God that's awesome. Now, if any of you are reading this at school, or the library, or at a friend's house, here's how you get around AOL's filter and look at my highly offensive site. While you are connected to AOL, open up another browser, such as Internet Explorer or Netscape and look at it in that browser. That way, the AOL filter doesn't apply. Trust me, this works great. I could get to some porn sites on AOL, but not very many good ones, so if I wanted to get to the good sites, this was how I did it. Of course, if your parents have a filter on you probably won't be able to see this on any browser. I'm afraid I use a few too many dirty words to get past a filter. Oh yeah, and I made a little cartoon just to show AOL what I think of them. Enjoy.
